Here in Jeremiah 15:4 we are given the definitive
reason for a most
awful judgment that was about to come upon the Lord's
people of that
time, and it
particularly related to a precise sin - that
which Manasseh
did in
Jerusalem (Jer 15:4).
2nd Kings
chapter
21 gives us an account of what Manasseh did in
Jerusalem, but even more
important
was - that which he did in the temple of our
Lord Jesus
Christ.
Now the temple in
Jerusalem was
the temporary place that God had chosen for His
presence among His
covenant people until He had made a way, by the
Cross of Christ, to
again tabernacle in their hearts. At that
time, if you wanted to
meet with God, you could find Him in the temple at
Jerusalem.
Yet, Manasseh, the king of Judah,
built idol alters in both temple courts, and inside
the temple he set
up
an asherah pole that he himself had made. The
cannanites believed
that
the fertility goddess asherah was the mother of
baal, and so they would
put
an asherah pole alongside the baal alters. It
was bad enough that
the
Israelites were at that time sacrificing their
children in the Valley
of
the Son of Hinnom ( just outside the wall of
Jerusalem ) and on all the
many
"high places" throughout their God -given land, but
Manasseh, the king
of
Judah, sacrificed his own son in the fire of molech
and..."Manasseh also shed so
much innocent
blood that he filled Jerusalem (the city of
God's pressance) from
end to end -...(2 Kings
21:16)." and "On the
very day they
sacrificed
their children to their idols, they entered my
sanctuary and desecrated
it (Ezekiel
23:39)." They desecrated God's
sanctuary, God's
temple.
Now, Romans 15:4 tells
us that
all this was written for us, the Church. The Church
is now the place of God's abiding presence here
on this earth. The Church was from eternity past,
and is now, part of
God's eternal purpose :
"To
the
intent that now unto the principalities and
powers in heavenly
places might be known by the church the
manifold wisdom of God,
according to the eternal purpose which he
purposed in Christ
Jesus our Lord: (Eph 3:10-11)".
In Matthew 18:20, Jesus
gave us
the definition of His Church, "...wherever
two or three are
gathered in My Name, there I am in the midst of them". There we have it, the
Church - the eternally chosen place of God's presence
here on this
earth, where the manifold wisdom of God can be found,
and if you now
want to meet with God, you can meet Him in any local
Church, where
there are at least two saints who are gathered in
Christ's Name.
Jesus Christ is now the eternal city of God's
presence, for it is in
Him that the multitudes of saints are gathered
together, the new
Jerusalem that comes down
out of heaven.
Now just as it was
reasonable
for God to ask His people to attend to His sanctuary
and not defile it,
the Apostle Paul wrote to the Church: "I
beseech you
therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that
ye present your bodies
a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable
service (Rom 12:1)." Yet, because of the
widespread acceptance of
so-called "contraception birth control" among God's
people, (much, if
not all of which is abortaficient),
the very things that
took place in the temple at Jerusalem through King
Mannaseh, Antiochus
Epiphanes in 167 B.C., and then again in 70 A.D.
when the Romans set up
their abominable ensigns on the eastern gate of the
temple and made
sacrifices to their
false god jupitor, is once again visiting God's
people.
When
the disciples asked Jesus about the end of the age
(i.e. the Old
Covenant
age which ended with the destruction of their city
and temple in 70
A.D.),
He quoted the prophet Daniel (Dan
12:11) in
Matthew
24:15, giving His disciples the warning sign of a
most terrible time
that
was coming upon Old Testament Israel, namely:
"when ye therefore shall
see the abomination of desolation, ...stand in the
holy place". As we state on this
website (www.life.org),
potentially
more babies die during Sunday morning Christian
services in
America than are murdered by all the nation's
abortionists combined
(priests
of molech and baal) during the other six days of the
week.
The weapons of mass
destruction
are everywhere among our people. They are in
our Wal-Mart's,
K-Mart's,
Walgreen's, Target's, Kroger, Safeway's, Rite Aids
and wrong
aids.
They are in our schools, our offices, our hand bags,
and worse yet;
they are
in our bodies, the temple of the Living God. "Don't
you know that you
yourselves are God's temple and that His Spirit
lives in you" If anyone
destroys God's temple,
God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred,
and you are that
temple (1 Cor
3:16-17)." Babylon is warring against
Babylon because America, and in particular the
institutional Christian
churches in America, have become like Babylon, and
when Israel of old
became likewise, it was exactly there that God sent
them also.
Since 1930, and subsequent Lambeth Council decisions
by the Anglican
Church to embrace contraception birth-control, "Death
has climbed in
through
our windows and has entered our fortresses; it has
cut off the children
from
the streets... (Jer 9:21)."
Yet in spite of
all this, "The
mighty men of Babylon have forborn to fight, they
have remained in
their holds: (Jer
51:30)". So, similar to what happened
in Jerusalem, how is it that the mighty men of
America
have refused to fight? Simply this: "If My
people who are
called by My Name will humble themselves and pray
and seek My face and
turn from their wicked ways, then will I
hear from Heaven,
forgive their sin and heal their land (2Chron
7:14)."
My people, the Church, must be brought to turn from
their
wicked ways. There is no other way.
So offensive to our Lord
was
Manasseh's sin, that "... Though
Moses and Samuel
stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward
this people: (Jer
15:1)".
In 512 B.C., Jerusalem was completely demolished (We are using the bible
chronology of Martin
Anstey, 1913) But, we have One
greater than Moses and
Samuel, who ever lives to make intercession for us,
the Lord Jesus
Christ. And, "A bruised reed shall
He not break, and the smoking flax
shall He not quench: He shall bring forth judgment
unto truth (Isaiah 42:3)."
It
is the Church, the bride of The Lamb, that Jesus
loved
and "gave
Himself
up for her, to make her holy, cleansing her by the
washing with water
through
the word, and to present her to Himself as a
radiant Church,
without
stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy
and blameless (Eph 5:27)." And "I
will build My Church and the gates of
hades will not stand against it" (Matt16:18)"
My God is able. May the bride of
the Lamb get herself ready.
